To work towards a goal we need a motivation to act.

And to be motivated, we need an emotional connection with the end point.

To do that, we need to keep asking WHY? Why is this important to me?

Keep following that thread of questioning until you reach the personal values that lie behind your goals.

You want to get fitter? Why is that? Because you want to be able to play badminton with your kids? Great and why is that important to you? Perhaps because modelling being active to your kids is something you think is important for a parent to do. Now we’re getting to the emotional connection.

That emotional connection gives us the impetus to get started and the motivation to keep going. It helps us put on our capes and soar upwards towards our goals.
